Play is the highest form of research

Albert Einstein

Us la recomeno molt!

Have you ever wanted the characters in a painting to talk to you? Have you ever wondered what they must have been thinking? If it was hot or cold? If they were happy to be there or if someone was just talking to them?

Sometimes I would have loved to be at the backstage of some paintings!

Mechanical Masterpieces is a collection of paintings reimagined for the 21st century. Optimised for a short attention span, it allows viewers to poke, prod, change, uncover, swell and water the paintings as they please. The installation was created by Neil Mendoza for the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh.

Neil Mendoza combines sculpture, electronics and software to bring inanimate objects and spaces to life. By connecting the digital and real world, he explores themes of the absurd, the humorous, the pointless and the surreal. She holds an MA in mathematics and computer science from Oxford University and an MFA in mid-art design from UCLA and has taught art and technology classes at Stanford and UCLA.

I highly recommend it!
