L’educació sempre representa un rol central –de forma visible o de forma velada– en qualsevol projecte ideològic. Per qui aposta per transformar el món en un lloc més just, solidari i democràtic, l’educació és clau; però qui creu que per al bon funcionament social són fonamentals les lògiques del mercat també té el seu propi projecte educatiu. Tot això, a més a més, no passa només a l’aula, sinó que amara tota la societat.
Els moments d’incertesa poden ser de gran ansietat però també de grans oportunitats. Temps per repensar el llenguatge de la política, de la lluita, de la solidaritat. El poder no és exclusivament dominació. També és resistència.

Henry Giroux (Providence, EUA, 1943) és un escriptor i crític cultural de renom internacional, autor o coautor de més de 65 llibres, ha escrit diversos centenars d'articles acadèmics, ha pronunciat més de 250 conferències públiques, és col·laborador habitual de mitjans de comunicació impresos, televisius i radiofònics, i és un dels acadèmics canadencs més citats en qualsevol àmbit de la recerca en Humanitats.
Sometimes I go online to some of my favourite sites and let my senses be nourished. It is so interesting to meet people whose words, works or knowledge you are grateful for... they make me feel so small but, at the same time, so blessed!

Education always plays a central role - in a visible or veiled way - in any ideological project. For those who are committed to transforming the world into a more just, supportive and democratic place, education is key; but those who believe that the logic of the market is fundamental to the proper functioning of society also have their own educational project. All this, moreover, does not only happen in the classroom, but permeates the whole of society.
Times of uncertainty can be times of great anxiety but also of great opportunities. Time to rethink the language of politics, of struggle, of solidarity. Power is not exclusively domination. It is also resistance.
